FAQ's for Collision Repair
Can you tow my car or vehicle to your shop?
Yes we can! We can have your vehicle towed from your home, accident scene or any other location needed. Most of the time when there is an insurance claim, you don’t pay for this service out of pocket.
What are my rights as a customer when choosing a repair shop or facility to fix my damaged vehicle?
Here is a list of your rights: (Please check your car insurance policy as, in rare cases, they may supersede these rights)
- You choose where your car can be repaired. There is no obligation to go with the insurance company’s recommended or preferred shop. Don’t let any insurance company intimidate you, there is no consequence for choosing a different shop.
- Ask for a written estimate or quote
- Approve all work and pricing of the repairs recommended following the repair guidelines given by the people who actually designed and built your car: the manufacturer.
- You’re entitled to a warranty included by the repair shop or facility that covers parts and labor that went into your vehicle. Remember that it is actually the repair facility who provides and must honor a warranty, never the insurance company. The only warranty an insurance can give it's customers is the guarantee that it will pay for your complete repair as recommended by repair professionals, not the insurance adjusters.
Do you work for me, or for my vehicle insurance company?
Here at Allyz we work for YOU! We have your best interest at heart. We work hard to make sure that we restore your vehicle to its original condition prior to the accident. Some auto insurance companies fight us on this, we understand it’s their job to try and pay the least amount of money possible on every claim in order to satisfy their bosses. Always keep in mind that you should not be left with a lesser vehicle or unsafe repairs just so that someone else can look good for their boss. As a vehicle owner, your priority should always be to ensure that the value and safety of your vehicle be restored to pre-accident condition. Your insurance company is supposed to work for you. You are their customer.
Should I go to the auto body shop or collision centers that my car insurance suggested / preferred / selected / direct repair program?
What you need to know about this approach is that this may not have your best interest at heart. Typically, arrangements made by your car insurance and their auto body shop network puts their interest higher than the customer or driver. Auto body shops or collision centers with these type of arrangements get an influx of work as long as they abide by certain rules and expectations from these insurance companies.
Here is a list of things that may incur:
- Sacrifice quality for the sake of quantity or more work.
- Cut corners by using cheaper parts instead of OEM parts
- Minimal work to minimize cost on insurance claim
- Cheaper paint, glue, etc. that may not last longer or be safer
What does OEM stand for, and should I expect it from my repair car facility?
OEM stands for "Original Equipment Manufacturer". This means the original parts or parts made by the vehicle manufacturer is made specifically for it. You only want OEM parts, approved and designed by your vehicle manufacturer. Do not settle for cheaper parts not approved or certified by your vehicle's manufacturer.
How much does it cost to repaint my vehicle or automobile?
Due to the variety of models and brands, and the extent of work to be done. We can provide you with an estimate or a quote. But ensure that you get quality work and service backed with the right warranty.
What kind of warranty should I expect when I repaint my car or vehicle?
Professional grade work should always be backed by a warranty. Do not rely on verbal guarantees or promises. Ensure that you have an auto body repair shop or paint shop, that will back their work with a warranty. Not just any standard or limited warranty either. Expect a lifetime warranty, and one that is transferable when you sell your vehicle. This is an added bonus when selling your vehicle. No matter where the buyer is in the country, the warranty transfers over to them.
How long does it take for a vehicle to be repainted?
Refinish/repair times will vary depending on make and model, severity of the damage and many other factors. Once a repair plan has been developed, evaluated and approved by our trained staff, it becomes much clearer and easier to predict how long a repair will take.
